Some of the Benefits of Juicing For Vegans

Whether you are an "old pro" at being a vegan, or just looking at information to help you decide whether that choice is right for you, you have probably been inundated with all kinds of information. Some of it is most likely contradictory. But, I would like to share with you some of the many benefits of juicing to supplement your diet.

First, and probably the biggest benefit of juicing is that it is extremely simple to take some fresh, tasty, vitamin packed fruits and/or vegetables, cut them up, and process them through a juice machine and come out with a very nutritious and healthy meal or snack. No pots and pans, or long cooking times, or lots of dishes to wash and a mess in the kitchen.

The second benefit of juicing, especially for a true vegan, is that there is a huge abundance of choices in what you consume. In most medium sized cities or towns, there are grocery stores and farmers markets offering fresh, organic produce that our parents never heard of- mangoes, papayas, passion fruit, carrots, green beans and snow peas of literally hundreds of varieties. Things can grow both locally, and in faraway exotic lands. Talk about choices!

Another benefit is that juicing fresh, ripe produce gives you immediate delivery of many of the volatile and sensitive nutrients that heat and cooking destroy. Many vitamins are simply cooked away when the food temperature reaches only 100 degrees Fahrenheit. And a few amino acids, necessary for building and rebuilding healthy tissue, literally boil away when they reach boiling temperatures in water.

Nothing can compare to the flavor of pure, unadulterated fruits and vegetables especially when you know how to add some herbs and spices to really ramp up the flavor. You can't get that freshness any way other than juicing, or eating them raw.
