Juice Your Way to a Healthy Body

We all know that we have to consume the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. However, there are still many among us who barely even have one serving a day and some really do not eat vegetables at all. One reason for this is the lack of appealing taste of these healthy greens.

The good news is that no one really said that we can only eat these greens in their raw form. There are several ways we can prepare vegetables and fruits, and one of those is by juicing them. Juicing fruits and vegetables is even more effective than munching on them because you can easily absorb all their nutrients when they are extracted.

Health Benefits

Freshly squeezed fruit juices and vegetable juices help promote good health and digestion. Raw produce is easily digested by our body because of its enzyme contents.

There was a study conducted in Switzerland sometime in 1930 regarding the effect of processed food in our blood, as opposed to natural food. It was found that once the body detected the intake of any processed or cooked food, the number of white blood cells increase. When compared to eating raw food, no increase in white blood cells was observed. Hence, fresh fruits and vegetables also support a healthy immune system.

Juicing Recipes with Specific Purpose

There are many varieties of fruit and vegetable juices that can be made. Here are some examples of juicing recipes and their corresponding health benefits:

- If you are experiencing nausea, the best juice is the extract of about four apples and an inch of ginger root.
- If more calcium is needed to build strong bones, it is best to combine parsley, kale, carrots and apple. This juicing recipe contains more carrots, about 6, and only half of an apple to taste.
- Juicing 3 apples and a pear is a good natural alternative for laxatives.
- Combining apples and strawberries into a fresh fruit juice purifies the blood.

There are many other possible fruit and vegetable combinations. You just need to be creative and may need to do a little bit of research on the health benefits of each vegetable and fruit so you will know which mix and match will produce the best results.
