Alkaline Menu #2

Breakfast: Cantaloupe with Cottage Cheese. Cantaloupe has very porous skin, and it can absorb pesticides or other chemicals that are sprayed on fields. Therefore, it is important to get your cantaloupe from the local Farmers Market. They are required to sell organic food. Slice the cantaloupe down the middle, and scoop the seeds out. Fill the empty seed cavity with a large scoop of cottage cheese. If you have never tried this combination of foods, you may be pleasantly surprised at how good it tastes.

Mid Morning Snack: Ambrosia Fruit Bowl. This is best if prepared the night before you need it. Peel 1 orange and 1 grapefruit, separate in sections, and then remove the membranes. Place in a bowl with 1 cup of fresh pineapple. Then stir in the juice of one lemon. Chill over night or until serving time. When it is time to serve this, spoon mixture into individual serving bowls and sprinkle coconut over the top of them. This recipe serves 4.

Lunch: Super Fiesta Salad: Slice or dice the following ingredients. 2 medium sized tomatoes, 1 cucumber, 1 of each: red, green & yellow bell pepper, 1 small red onion, 1 can of green chilies (optional). The sauce is made of 3 Tablespoons salsa, 2 Tablespoons lemon juice, 1/2 Tablespoon minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon each of pepper, sea salt, and ground cumin. Mix all the ingredients together and chill for at least one hour or more before serving. Serve on a bed of lettuce or with tortilla chips. This recipe serves 6.

Afternoon Snack: Fresh Organic Granny Smith Apple. The Granny Smith Apple is the most Alkaline of all the apples. If it is too tangy for you, replace it with another type of organic apple.

Supper: Stuffed Squash! Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut two Acorn Squash into halves and place into a pan or pans that are big enough to hold them. Pour 1/2 cup of water into the pan. Place filled pan into the oven and steam the squash for 15 to 20 minutes.

While the Squash is steaming, lightly steam-fry 1/2 cup of diced carrots, 1/2 cup of diced red bell pepper, 1/2 cup thickly sliced zucchini, 1/2 cup diced onion, and 1/2 tsp minced garlic for a few minutes. Spoon vegetables into the squash halves and bake until squash is tender. This recipe serves 4.

Remember to drink plenty of Pure Alkaline Water through out the day. Other Alkaline beverages for you to add into your menu are: Fresh Squeezed Fruit Juice, Green Juices, Mineral Water, and Vegetable Juices.
